The worst representation I've ever seen

It's been several years now but I just wanted to let you people know this woman told me if I did everything that she said to do that I would take my son home with me on the last day of court she moved over to the other people's table and told me she wasn't there to win she was only there for trial ex...perience so keep that in mind folks I did nothing wrong I committed no crime I broke no law and they took my son

Trial experience

The day of court I asked her if we were going to win she didn't say we were there to win or lose she was there for trial experience

open and close adoption

Christine Thornton informed me me it was no such thing as an open adoptionI'm afraid she was wrong on that one unfortunately the second thing I was told was the longer the takes the better all also this turns out to be falseand thirdly she informed me if I want my son I need to do everything the ju...dge asked of me so I did this turns out to be false alsoand since it was an open adoption the mother has got to speak with everybody before courtwhat I'm saying is Christine knew how this will turn out even before we went to court trial and from my understanding I was trying to prove that I wasn't an unfit parent but in reality I was going up against people that had a lot of moneywhich definitely made this case what it is I'm a regular guy I have a criminal background I'm not a perfect person but I did every thing they asked I have 13 months a visit with my son says no concerns I have at least 12 months of clean UA and I was going up against the adoption agency the adoptive parents and 3 specialist witnesses that were paid 6000 dollars a piece to be a witness against a guy like me $6000 a drug and alcohol evaluation $6000 I can have it done at the state for 250creative adoptions force me to look for my son for two months after he was born they also told me don't take it personally its just a business you have a criminal background you will never see your son ever you might as well just sign him over you don't have a chance they laughed in my faceI put all my faith in the justice system into Christine and this is what I got she helped me prepare for the case 0 she informed me of what I was up against 0she fought for my rights 0what I did get is a few phone calls and a lot of texts which did me 0I have the feeling she wasn't really on my side but she wanted this trial for trial timeafter the trial she told me it was a waste of my time to appeal it and some of the things the judge was said was just ludicrous okI had 8 UA a month I volunteered another 8 which makes 16 she told me I was in manipulating the system because it wasn't random enough I didn't pick the days then I was informed by the judge that even though I have never been charged with any kind of abusive a child I have 13 months of visits with my son and each 1 of them says no concernsthat I might harm the childdamental evaluator told the judge that I study for my mental evaluation online yes I said online and the judge agreed with this and she felt it was truthful my apartment passed inspection I have a full time jobI have health insurance for himI was denied custody of my son because they said he has everything he needs where he is at I thought I was going to court to see if I can if there was a fit parentnot how much money I had she had nothing to say about any of this she just stood there do not say anything not quite sure what happened at first she was out there kicking that ass and then I don't know we roll over and play dead after that you tell me would I recommend this person you don't know I can't answer that one I can't check yes or no maybe if you had an airtight perfect case yes but if you're going to get a little resistance I don't knowI feel she didn't care if I won or lost as long as she got some trial time.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
