I knew I needed a good lawyer. I contacted 3 different attorneys and two of them spent 5 minutes on the phone with me. And then quoted me thousands for just a basic retainer. Melissa invited me to her office and spent an hour with me going over my case. Her retainer was reasonable, and when I ...decided to go for a plea deal, the flat fee was a great option. She never stopped fighting for me to get a good deal. The DA originally offered 8 years in prison. Melissa immediately said no to that and spent a day researching cases like mine. And procedded to bombard the DA with information of why an eight year sentence in prison was completely wrong. The deal I signed was for a probation sentence. Melissa treated me with compassion.
