I was in the midst of a highly contentious child custody case when another attorney referred me to Ms. Wilkens. I had already had to fire one attorney for incompetence, and was really starting to pull my hair out. My abusive husband had left us for another woman in 2009, only to come back with a Chi...ld Custody Suit in 2016. My previous attorney (2nd one) had made a real mess of things in only three months and I was looking for somebody I could count on. Unfortunately, Ms. Wilkins wasn't it. After meeting her, I had a good sense, but things quickly started to go wrong. She began drafting documents I didn't authorize, and then wanting to charge me a LOT for them. At a hearing, she did not defend me, and let it go on for three needless hours. She then began demanding more money than we owed her according to the Attorney/Client Agreement. We were already paying $500 a month on top of the retainer. This was all we were supposed to pay according to the Agreement. When we didn't pay more, she quit. But the thing is, she told the Judge she quit because we did not pay her. This was not true or correct. Two days later I had to represent myself at a Settlement Conference. Besides that, she delayed giving me my file so I could be prepared. I wouldn't trust her. Un
