Jordan Marcus Humphreys

In 2013 I left the State of Missouri Medicaid Program and took a new position with a business services company that provides support to Long Term Nursing Management Companies as Director of Collections.  I also obtained certification in Forida as Authorized House Counsel to Health Care Navigator.  This is a very entreprenurial opportunity with a constant feed of new challenges and changes.  I am also able to continue my work in healthcare compliance and privacy in this position.

In 2011, I voluntarily withdrew as a partner and left my law firm to refocus my legal career on health care compliance.  I joined the the State of Missouri, Department of Social Services, Division of Legal Services as Legal Counsel tasked with advising and assisting the state Medicaid program, MO HealthNet.  Initially I am working with the cost recovery unit on compliance and efficiency issues, drafting and revising regulations, letters, forms and procedures as well as proposing legislation.  I joined the Health Care Compliance Association and intend to obtain certification as a Health Care Compliance professional.

For the first 15 years the focus in my law practice was representation of creditor's in protection and pursuit of their rights in cases of non-payment, default, breach of contract, mechanic's liens and related claims.  I provide services in both State and Federal Courts as well as the Bankruptcy Courts.  My philosophy is finding efficient and practical solutions to my client's problems.  I tend to cut to the issues immediately.  I like to deal with the issues head on.  A large part of this practice involved risk management and legal and regulatory compliance issues related to healthcare collections, which has grown into my professional passion.

Outside of health care compliance and regulatory issues, my passions are my family, elk hunting, golf, kayaking and in-shore fishing the rivers and bays of Florida.
