Mike Hulen

Mike Hulen was retained by my son and me, to represent me in a family law matter. My grown trusted him because he was a veteran and my son is a veteran. Mr. Hulen took advantage of my son's trust. He failed to provide monthly statements of his fees and charges, number 1. He revealed confidential inf...ormation to the opposing attorney several times, number 2. He agreed to an increase in visitation for my children with the opposing party without my knowledge and without informing me. When my children were not returned to me on time and I didn't know where they were, he did not answer my calls or return my emails, number 3. When I finally heard back from him days later he had no explanation for what had happened or why he had not responded, number 4. At that time, I asked him to withdraw from my case for personal health reasons or else I would have no choice but to complain. Instead he asked the Judge to immediately release him as my attorney because I had threatened to "file a complaint" against him, number 5. My son then asked him how much money he would refund and he said about $3500. But when my son asked for billing statements, he had none, but could create them number 6. After two weeks my son still did not receive any statements. I knew there was a phone conference coming up on 3/27/17. On about 3/20/17 Mr. Hulen informed my son that he had spent all of the retainer and there would be no refund, number 7. On 3/5/17 I had asked Mr. Hulen for a copy of my file and he still hasn't given it to me, number 8. On 3/26/17 Mr. Hulen sent me an email informing me that he would not be representing me at the 3/27/17 hearing because the Judge had granted his Motion to Withdraw as my Counsel (attorney) without a response from me, number 9. Mr. Hulen represented me for less than 3 months but has caused major problems. I am having serious problems finding a new attorney because Mr. Hulen has all my legal documents and most if not all our money, number 10!
