She offered to help my uncle out of the goodness of her heart. She really helped us a lot considering our situation with my uncle. Unfortunately the lawyer we hired passed away recently May God bless her soul. She as well was a wonderful person and we were so blessed to find these two special lawyers...! Still not sure if she will fully take his case, But she got to work ASAP to help and see what she can do for him. Our situation is that since we actually paid the lawyer we would have to pay again and honestly we can't afford another 6,000. We explained our situation to her and she volunteered to see what she can do. Most people wouldn't even give us a second thought! So were so grateful that God put her in our path!! May God Bless Her and her family May he keep her safe as well and protected from this pandemic and anything else that might come her way! Being caught in a legal situation is always stressful and many lawyers – though well intended – aggravate that stress with a lot of sterile mumbo jumbo that is semi incomprehensible. And even worse they can over diagnose so when you go in for advice on a parking ticket they’re telling you that you co...uld face the death penalty. In my case, enter Heather who was very gracious and empathetic (an unheard of attribute in most lawyers). I was in a very sticky Catch 22 situation and Heather listened very carefully and articulated points of law explaining in plain English where I was in a good position and where I had some vulnerabilities; and in those cases, actions that could be taken to mitigate them. I left my discussions with her feeling a deep sense of relief and gratitude and that she really cared about me and my situation and that my situation was not some kind of legal game of “quien es mas macho,” with my opponent’s lawyer the way it is with so many other lawyers. One other thing to remember about Heather is that earlier in her career she was a public defender. My brother is a public defender and these people are a special breed who care about the law and about their client’s rights under the law. I certainly think that is the case with Heather.
