I hired her for a simple divorce case. She has unilaterally tried to withdraw counsel for unknown reasons. She has refused to communicate with me ever since 1/2/26. She has not returned my emails or phone calls. Due to her lack of communication, my ex who I have an restraining order against, has repe...atedly harassed me and attempted to stalk me. Lerma has a history of poor communication. My ex's counsel has harassed me in the beginning of the proceedings, assuming that I was representing myself pro se. My ex's counsel is extremely belligerent, who I already reported to Texas bar, and will likely start harassing me again. I will be requesting a refund as I paid her 75% of the counsel fee which is 3750 dollars. She has not nearly done 75% of the work - she has attended ONE restraining order hearing. I know my rights, if she does not refund me appropriately, I may have to take my grievance to the Texas Bar again. Where in this world am I finding so many inappropriate and unprofessional attorneys? El Paso, you need to do better. The latest issue involves them forcing me to go to a hearing during a time I have clearly stated I was not available. I will be contacting the proper authorities.

I suggest you look for another place. Ms Lerma seems very interested at first but after you pay her you’re gonna be ignored. She will set up meetings and won’t even show up. A simple divorce has taken close to two years now and still isn’t finalized. They messed up on the final decree by imputing wro...ng information. There are true professionals out there but she ain’t one.
