Bill D. Hicks is a highly respected attorney and former State District Judge with a legacy of leadership in West Texas. A graduate of Texas Tech School of Law, Mr. Hicks began his career as a prosecutor in the 34th Judicial District, where he rose to serve as Trial Team Chief and Special Prosecutor. He prosecuted a wide variety of cases, including those in federal court as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney. Appointed to the 243rd District Court bench in 2010, he presided over numerous complex criminal and civil matters with consistently high approval ratings.
Mr. Hicks has balanced private practice with public service, merging his firm with others to form a thriving litigation practice before being called to serve again as District Attorney in 2022. As District Attorney, he implemented innovative programs and eliminated substantial case backlogs, reflecting his dedication to public accountability. Now leading The Law Offices of Bill D. Hicks P.C., he focuses on civil litigation and injury law, combining deep trial experience—over 125 jury trials—with a client-first approach. Mr. Hicks is active in substantial community and professional organizations and is recognized for his excellence and commitment to justice.

Very Thank ful and now Knowledgeable about the Law

Doesn't keep you informed and confident in resolution.
Family Law case. Seemed knowledgeable but after making payments didn't keep me informed of dates and where we were at in the process. $2000 least they could do Is email me once a week or 2 what they have done.

Replied last July 14, 2014I am sorry that this client did not feel that they were kept informed of the status of their case. The legal process is a long process, unfortunately. The family law courts in particular are very backed up which means that there will be many weeks, and in some cases months in between your hearings. During that time there will be literally nothing happening in your case. I certainly understand that this is frustrating for you, but it is the situation that we have to deal with. At any time, any client can email me directly or call the office for an update on their case. We try to update our clients as there are developments on their on their cases. I wish that it was possible to seek speedier resolutions for our clients, but we are dealing with a poorly funded and very heavily back-loaded system. To all of our clients, please feel free to contact us at any time to let us know your frustration. While we may not be able to do anything about it, we will certainly listen and do what we can.
