Rafael is a proud native of a small town in West Texas (Pecos County), where he spent his youth camping in Big Bend National Park and on drilling rigs with his father learning about the oil and gas industry that has long-fueled much of the West Texas economy. Rafael credits his work ethic and “never-say-die” attitude to his parents, both of whom worked blue-collar jobs during Rafael’s adolescence to help their children succeed.
Rafael left home to play Division I football in the Big XII Conference, where he received several accolades for his performance on and off the field, including being selected as an Arthur Ashe Sports Scholar and recognized multiple times on the Big XII Honor Roll.
After hanging up his cleats, Rafael returned home to work as a roughneck on a drilling rig before attending Baylor University School of Law.
During his first year of law school, Rafael lost his only brother in a tragic ATV accident. Despite this setback, Rafael returned to school one week later and eventually competed on several national moot court and mock trial teams. Rafael was recognized for his outstanding performance on Baylor Law School’s moot court and mock trial teams, including winning several best brief awards and several top oral advocate awards.
After practicing law in Texas at some of the largest law offices in Texas for nearly a decade, Rafael decided it was time to write the next chapter of his life-long pursuit of excellence and justice. Rafael formed Rodriguez Legal, PLLC with the goal of providing his clients with the same, top-notch legal service that he had provided at his former large firms.
Among his clients, colleagues, and opponents, Rafael is known for being a confident, zealous and relentless advocate, qualities which he attributes to his upbringing in West Texas, to his experience as a college athlete, and to laboring in the West Texas oilfields. He is respected in the courtroom and thrives on his feet talking with judges and juries. Whether he is preparing a case for trial or working to reach a favorable settlement for his clients, Rafael prides himself on outworking and out-preparing the competition. Rafael's ability to stay poised under pressure and his ability to find creative solutions where others see dead-ends are qualities that set him apart from the rest of the pack.
Rafael represents individuals in legal matters involving wrongful death, serious personal injury, and other serious legal matters across the State of Texas. When Rafael is not working hard for his clients, he spends his time with his family and friends, coaching youth sports, and building meaningful relationships with people in his community.
If Rafael can ever be of assistance, please do not hesitate to contact Rodriguez Legal to schedule a time to speak with Rafael directly about any serious legal matter you may be facing.
