I graduated from Baylor Law School with honors in 1981. I was Notes and Comments editor of the Baylor Law Review, and a member of The Order of Barristers. My preferred areas of practice are Personal Injury and Immigration. I have been active in the representation of over 200 clients with claims resulting from breast implants and of Fen-Phen use, including extensive consulting and referral work as lead counsel in these areas of practice for other law firms. I have now combined my interest and varied experience in complex areas of law with my love of Spanish, to expand into immigration law and immigration litigation. I am Board Certified in Immigration and Nationality Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, a distinction held by less than 200 attorneys in Texas, and by only four attorneys practicing west of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. My personal injury practice includes Oil Field, Refinery and Petrochemical Processing Facility serious injury and death cases, of which the firm currently has three active cases, two being death cases and the other a permanent total disability case. I handle both employer gross negligence death claims and third party negligence claims in these areas of practice.
I am admitted to practice before all Texas State and U.S. District Courts, The U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and The United States Supreme Court, and I have appellate experience in Texas Courts of Appeal, the Texas Supreme Court, the Board of Immigration Appeals, the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and the U. S. Supreme Court. I am a member of The Texas Bar Association, The Bar Association of the Fifth Federal Circuit, the American Immigration Lawyers Association and its Texas Chapter. I am fluent in Spanish, I am an instrument rated pilot and a member of Mensa.

"Mike Borland is one of the smartest people I have ever met. Mike brings intelligence, preparation, and compassion to every case. In the courtroom he commands instant credibility. He has secured staggering amounts of money for his clients, and is a formidable opponent. I endorse this lawyer wholeheartedly."
"I have known Mike Borland for over 20 years. We have worked on cases together and shared information continuously during that time. Mike is a brilliant lawyer who puts maximum effort into every case. If I ever need a lawyer, he would be the first I would call."
