Client charged with multiple felony offenses across two counties. Based on his criminal history, his minimum sentence was 25 years with a maximum of life in prison. Original offer was 20 years on three ... felonies and 10 years on the other two. After months of negotiating the case, the State agreed to plead him to ONE case for a sentence of 5 years and give time-served on another, with three cases dismissed. While this isn't the dismissal I work so hard for, sometimes the best result isn't a dismissal - it's saving precious years of my clients' lives so that they do not grow old in a cell.
