I am an attorney working for the Amarillo branch office of Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas. My practice consists primarily of representing victims of domestic violence and assisting other victims of crime. I do not currently practice any criminal defense or personal injury, although I have previous experience in both areas. I also have previous experience as a prosecuting attorney. Our office covers the top 20 counties of the Texas panhandle, an area larger than many states, and I enjoy meeting and cultivating relationships with the judges, attorneys, and crisis center workers in our rural areas.

I understand it is legal aid and free services but there are ways to be professional & he was not.
Had a few appointment meetings with him through legal aid because I had a eviction situation that I felt was handled very wrongly, had a lot of personal and sentimental items taken from the home including my little brothers deceased ashes along with a lot of my daughters belongings that are irreplace...

Ghosted
I was contacted my Mr McBride through legal aid for a divorce. After 2 hours of texting with him about the details he ghosts me. No explanation or reason. This is unprofessional, rude behavior and honesty just cruel.
As of this writing, I have two one star reviews, which are both from applicants who applied for legal assistance, were provided with free legal advice, but were not accepted as clients. I think folks can see for themselves why they were not accepted. After they didn't get what they wanted, they lashed out with negative reviews online. Sadly, some folks have a toxic entitlement mentality. Interviewing an applicant and providing free legal advice does not obligate me to accept the person's case.

Mr McBride shows that he doesn’t care.
I contacted legal aid for support in me and my spouses separation situation, and mr. Steven McBride got back with me exclusively over txt for some reason, he accepted my case and asked for all my information as well as my family (children, spouse) etc. when I had questions he didn’t answer them he ju...
Jeremy applied for assistance from my non-profit law firm, Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas. Due to funding restrictions, we were not able to accept Jeremy's case for full representation. He was given a free consultation and free legal advice relevant to his legal problem and was sent a letter closing his application and confirming that we did not represent him in this matter. Due to attorney-client confidentiality, I cannot reveal what his legal problem was or what advice was given to him. However, all of this is fully documented in Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas's electronic case management system. Unfortunately, Jeremy chose to go online and make false representations concerning what actually happened.

"Mr. McBride is a gifted lawyer, because he is a compassionate person. He has a keen sense of the challenges faced by his typical client, and he has an very good working relationship with key members in the legal community. Mr. McBride's knowledge of the law and dedication to the community should be envied by every attorney."
