James L. Abbott Jr.

I have been helping people with their legal problems since 1998. My practice areas include divorce/family law, probate and estate planning, and auto injuries, slip and fall, dog bites, etc. I started studying law school at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. I started my career as a volunteer advocate for West Texas Legal Aid. My clients allow me to travel extensively across the country. In the past 24 months, I have done hearings across Texas in Dallas, Houston, Amarillo, Lubbock, Waco, Tyler, Midland, Beaumont, and Austin. I have also done hearings in Long Beach, CA; Grand Rapids, MI; Fairbanks, AK; Boston, MA; St. Louis, MO; Denver, CO; Orlando, FL; Albuquerque and Roswell, NM. As you can tell, no customer is too far away for our firm.
I have practiced law in the areas of criminal, family, and personal injury. I have helped people handle DWIs, drug charges and other criminal cases. Sometimes good people find themselves on the wrong side of the law, and when they do, we need to be there to help them. Sometimes people are injured by the negligence of others, and we have reached out to help those people collect the money they deserve from insurance companies. I am married to the lovely Brenda Abbott, and we have two children: Ashley and Jamie. My hobbies include gardening, traveling, and kung fu fighting. I am originally from St. Louis, MO, and I have lived in a number of places, including: Stockton, CA; Jackson, MS; Greenville, MS; and Greenwood, MS. I have lived in West Texas for almost thirty years, and I have learned that nothing beats a West Texas sunset.
The common theme throughout my entire legal career has been my desire to help others, and I, along with the entire Abbott Law Office staff, am committed to continuing doing that with our clients. I am accessible and approachable, and my personal investment in each client is the foundation of the Abbott Law Office.
