I can't say enough about how pleased I am for picking Charles as my probate attorney. During the discovery meeting I got a good sense of how attentive and invested he was in his clients. I had no experience with the probate process and was very nervous about which attorney to hire. I called around a bunch of different offices for comparison and Charles stood out because he went in depth into questions and was extremely personable and felt like he cared a lot more than the other lawyers I talked with. The entire process of the probate went the same way, every question I had, any issue that came up, Charles was extremely helpful, reliable and easy to communicate with. I highly recommend Charles.

Charles Smaistrala helped me during a difficult personal time. I found him to be an experienced, meticulous lawyer. His careful habits extended additionally to all precautions to keep me safe, a person at very high risk for Coronavirus, while speedily drawing up a new will and all necessary documents. His counsel was sensible and excellent. I thought I needed “this.” No, he counseled, it is better if you have “that”—something that had not crossed my mind. His suggestions and legal counseling saved me a great deal of money. I certainly did NOT need a trust. The knowledge that one is in the hands of a capable and honest lawyer is a pure joy. Many, many years ago, I once worked as a legal assistant. (Both lawyers long since deceased.) Times have indeed changed, but not the education I received in differentiating mediocrity from competence in legal matters. Mr. Smaistrala was everything I could have hoped for—not only had a lightning quick grasp of my circumstances and needs, but was reasonably priced, and tops in accomplishing quickly the legal work.
