Sylvia Acosta

Too bad there is not a negative rating scale. I thought that even when doing pro-bono/state appointed...you tried to defend your client. I have been trying to contact Ms. Acosta since August...she does not call back and her excuse for not talking to her client is that "they can't call me from jail...." My son has been in jail since June. Has talked to his lawyer twice - both times the same thing while in the courtroom.... No defense, no information, no plan. NO DEFENSE. I might feel different if she would at least contact one of us....but nothing since her vacation right after his arrest.

Sylvia does not answer her phone for her clients nor the family of her clients. She does not return calls after leaving numerous messages. She does not research her clients cases. After asking Sylvia had she viewed audio/video concerning my case she had never done so after being my attorney for over ...a period of 4 months. Sylvia only wanted me to accept the courts offer and would not respond with a counter-offer. She became very frustrated and agitated with me because I would not accept the courts offer. She would not view case details or discuss written case law with me that I had to research on my own. I had to plea bargain for a case that I was innocent on due to Mrs. Acosta's lack of expertise as a defense attorney.

It is less then 24 hours before my loved ones court case. I have been trying to reach Sylvia she dose not return her calls she has no email Avalable, and when you look up her number in the phone book it takes you to a different lawyers number if the case is compromised due to her negligence then I wi...ll surely write another review if not, consider that she is at least sufficient to provide a proper defense for her clients.
