More than a divorce lawyer!

About fifteen years ago, my companion and I went to Eric Willie for help in drawing up our wills. He came highly recommended by friends whom we trusted and we could not have been more pleased with the result. Mr. Willie was obviously very experienced in family law and took plenty of time to get to kn...ow us and our needs and concerns. His staff were professional and efficient as well as being friendly and resourceful. And his fee was extremely reasonable. When it became possible for us to marry last year, my companion and I returned to Eric, now in an even more convenient office very near our home in South Austin, for advice on updating our wills. Once again, we were very, very satisfied. We will continue to use Eric Willie for any and all of our legal needs. Eric Willie is much more than a wonderful divorce lawyer!

Austin BEST Divorce Attorney

Eric Willie is hands down the best Divorce/Family Law attorney in Austin!! Eric invests his time, energy and heart in each and every case. Eric is attentive, detail-oriented, knowledgeable and thorough. After 8 months of no progress, being totally left in the dark, and an outrageously high tab from a...nother lawyer at a large firm in Austin, Eric agreed to take my case with every possible odd stacked against me. Eric never stopped supporting me, communicating with me, encouraging me nor believing in me. I was truly "dead in the water" before Eric stepped in and readily took my case. In record time, Eric studied my case, caught up to speed, and ready for my trial. Due to Eric's knowledge of Texas Family Law and just as importanty, the Travis County Court System, Eric knew what to expect in the courtroom and always kept me informed. Eric took me from defeated to utter defeat!! My ex was attempting to relocate my son to East Texas and I have Eric to thank for tirelessly fighting to keep my son here with his sister and I. Eric is honest, genuine, compassionate, and truly invested in his clients. Eric Willie is a lawyer you can trust to pour himself into your case. He is receptive and open-minded. He has a very calming effect that is very crucial during such high pressure, high stress situations. I highly recommend Eric Willie to anyone seeking the best Divorce Lawyer that Austin, TX has to offer. Top notch Professional!!

Review

At the 2013, I hired Eric as my attorney for my divorce case. He quoted me for $5K for the case. After 1 months, he asked for $7K, then $10K, $12K, $15K. There is much progress for my case, but he was excellent at fill up hours and bills. It's hard to argue that a 2-hours task he claimed is really d...one by his assistant with a template for only 10 mins. One time he even charged me 3 hours he didn't do it at all. He told that's a place holder! I was sick of his endless billing without no progress. I fired him after 2 months of hiring. After the divorce is done, I found the attorney of the other party charged the other party for only 1/3 of the amount of Eric did, for the same case, even with higher hour rate.

Not super Impressed

I had to pay a retainer fee twice. The first time he received my money however couldn't do anything for me other than tell me I needed to hire another lawyer for the jurisdiction of my case and once it was transferred he could help. Well I did that, and my new attorney in another city was phenomenal.... Case got transferred and then I had to pay another retainer fee to start up the initial case I started the year before. Since then I know he went to court twice for me for certain but each time we had to file for a continuum since my ex had left the state. Since then nothing. My money is gone and I'm no better off than I was two years ago, only a lot more financially burdened. I don't feel as if my case was of any importance so I now have someone else.

One Hit Wonder!!

Eric Willie is a "ONE HIT WONDER!" It appears that since the initial dust from my divorce has settled, Eric took my money, which included an additional $1500 on top of the $5000 I paid that was to be a flat fee for ALL ISSUES related to my case and was not, and high tailed it without warning! There i...s still an issue lingering surrounding our family residence and we were to address that issue after a six month time period after the divorce was signed by the judge. Well, that six months is up and I have heard NOTHING from Eric or anyone from his office. I also received no communication that Mr. Willie is no longer representing me, so if you ask me if I have an attorney, that I really can't answer. I do know though and can prove with my communication efforts that he has not "finished what was started" and is making no attempts to contact me. I feel as though I was baited in to hire him because he assured me that he could clean up what a previous attorney messed up, which he did, but after being asked to appear again and charged the additional funds by Eric, then the time period for which we were to address the house being sold and not hearing from Mr. Willie (even with me offering to shell out more money, even though I was to only pay a flat fee surrounding my divorce) I have to recant my initial comment. Mr. Willie is a good attorney, initially and for short cases, but if you have something that might require him to actually WORK beyond a couple times in court, this is where he fails, in my opinion! After getting every cent Eric asked for and giving him such rave reviews, upon HIS request, I would think he would have had the decency to finish the case he started... instead, I got a "one hit wonder," out of Eric Willie... Get your pocket books ready, but be prepared to pay someone else to finish Eric's job.
