Park Silkenson is an Austin criminal defense lawyer and Senior Trial Attorney at Michael & Associates Criminal Defense Attorneys. For nearly two decades, he has focused exclusively on defending Texans charged with DWI, assault, family violence, drug offenses, theft crimes, probation violations, intoxication assault, and other misdemeanor and felony offenses. His extensive criminal defense experience has given him a thorough understanding of Texas criminal law, criminal procedure, and courts in Travis County and throughout Central Texas.
Mr. Silkenson earned his undergraduate degree in journalism from the University of Texas at Austin before obtaining his Juris Doctor from St. Mary's University School of Law. During law school, he was selected to participate in the St. Mary's Criminal Defense Clinic, where he gained valuable courtroom experience representing defendants in criminal matters throughout the San Antonio area.
After graduating from law school, Mr. Silkenson returned to Austin and established his own criminal defense practice, representing individuals accused of a wide range of misdemeanor and felony offenses. He later joined a criminal defense firm in 2015, where he spent a decade representing clients accused of serious misdemeanor and felony offenses. During that time, he handled thousands of criminal matters involving DWI offenses, assault allegations, drug crimes, intoxication offenses, and violent crimes. These experiences provided him with extensive familiarity with Texas criminal courts and the challenges individuals face when navigating the criminal justice system.
In 2025, Mr. Silkenson joined Michael & Associates Criminal Defense Attorneys, where he continues to defend clients facing criminal charges in Austin, Travis County, Williamson County, and surrounding communities. In addition to his extensive courtroom experience, he is certified by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to administer Standardized Field Sobriety Tests (SFSTs). This specialized training provides valuable technical insight into the field sobriety testing procedures frequently used in DWI investigations, allowing him to effectively evaluate and challenge intoxication-related evidence when appropriate.
About Michael & Associates Criminal Defense Attorneys
Michael & Associates Criminal Defense Attorneys is a criminal defense firm with a unique model: the high-touch, personalized attention of a boutique firm, backed by the resources and collective experience of a 40+ lawyer defense team.
Every client is assigned a dedicated Senior Trial Attorney who owns the defense from intake through resolution. That attorney focuses on a specific county and court — practicing there regularly and knowing the judges, the prosecutors, and the local tendencies that shape outcomes. Cases are not rotated, reassigned, or passed to junior attorneys (the firm doesn't employ any).
Behind that lead attorney is a team of forty criminal-defense lawyers with more than 1,000 jury trials between them, including attorneys Board Certified in Criminal Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, ten Super Lawyers honorees, ACS-CHAL Forensic DWI Lawyer-Scientists, former prosecutors, former judges, and former law-enforcement professionals, including a former FBI agent.
That structure gives clients the 40-on-1 advantage: one senior lawyer leading your case, backed by the collective knowledge of 40+ criminal-defense attorneys. It means the prosecutor is not up against one lawyer — they're up against a brain trust.
The firm's main metric is client satisfaction, which is measured using standard CSAT surveys to every client at the conclusion of the case. The firm has achieved a 98.5% client satisfaction rate based on 1,840 survey responses. The full breakdown by case type is below:

Truly talented young lawyer.
From the minute i meet the guy sitting in the cold Travis county jail, I felt that everything was going to be okay. After a short talk with him and me sharing with him the truth of what happened. He made my actions very clear to me, and gave me a worst and best scenario long term. Once i was out of t...

Professional, efficient, knowledgeable and reasonably priced!
I contacted Mr. Silkenson regarding a prior legal issue that I wanted expunged. My issue was promptly and professionally dealt with and completed at a very reasonable price. Mr. Silkenson kept me appraised as to the disposition of my case throughout the process and answered all my legal questions. ...
"If you’re looking for a lawyer who is smart, diligent, meticulous and respected by prosecutors who know him for over-preparing his cases (which, of course, is bad for them, and leads to better results for you) then you should consider having Park in your corner."
