It is my mission to serve you with first-class customer attention by zealously advocating on your behalf. This means having an understanding of the client's position and the empathy for why they are seeking representation.
Throughout my career as a prosecutor, I've tried cases to a jury from a traffic violation to a capital murder and many crimes in between. I proudly represented the community of Austin in the prosecution of the SXSW capital murder trial and the Tarrytown Murder. It is now time to use my trial and litigation experience to serve you and other citizens in the best possible way.
I was born and raised in Lubbock, Texas. I graduated Lubbock Christian University with a Bachelor's in Business Administration. From there I attended Texas Tech University where I graduated with my Law degree and a Master's in Business Administration.
I began my legal career in San Antonio representing citizens accused of crimes as well as business owners in civil manners. Following that, I served as Assistant District Attorney of Lubbock County for nearly four years. For the past 8 years, I served as Assistant District Attorney for Travis County. Since then, I started my own practice in early 2018 serving the people of the Greater Austin Area.

I do not recommend this attorney!
I hired Attorney Marc Chavez to represent my son in a misdemeanor case in Texas. In the course of thirteen months that he represented my son, he did not act in the best interest of the client, my son; he failed to supply requested documents; he failed to adequately and clearly explain pertinent facts...
"I have worked on cases against Marc and know him to be a dedicated and effective advocate. He is on the short list of go-to attorneys in Austin for criminal defense. Marc's clients are lucky to have him in their corner, fighting for justice."
"I endorse this lawyer. Marc Chavez is a talented, hardworking, and successful attorney. He combines a deep knowledge of local procedure and criminal law to provide superior representation for people in need. I heartily endorse Marc Chavez."
