Jaime Danilo Pesantes

Jaime Pesantes is an aggressive criminal defense attorney whose number one priority is helping his clients get the best results possible.

Jaime completed his undergraduate education at Southern Methodist University, obtaining a Bachelor of Art in Economics. He went on to attend law school at Texas Tech University, where he obtained his J.D., as well as an M.B.A.

Jaime is fluent in Spanish, Italian and French.

In addition to his legal studies, Jaime has taken an active interest in public policy. In 2012, he served as a legal fellow at the International Justice Mission (IJM) office in La Paz, Bolivia. In 2013 and 2015, Jaime worked at the Texas Capitol during the 83rd and 84th Legislative Sessions, first as a legal aid and later as Depute Committee Director for the International Trade Committee.

Jaime later began working as a criminal defense attorney for Peek and Toland, PLLC, where he gained considerable experience handling hundreds of misdemeanor and felony  cases in counties all across Central Texas. He now is the lead criminal defense attorney at Smith & Vinson Law Firm’s San Antonio office.

In addition to his professional work, Jaime dedicates his time to volunteering. He serves as the IJM Volunteer Team Leader in Austin, Texas. Additionally, Jaime recently joined the Texas Board of Directors of Phoenix House, a multi-state nonprofit drug and alcohol rehabilitation organization.
