Erin Elizabeth Sweeney

Erin Morrissey represents electric utilities, power marketers and oil and gas companies with their compliance reporting, licensing, permitting and regulatory needs. She also advises clients on appellate cases and civil litigation in state and federal court, often involving complex commercial issues and energy-related matters. 

Prior to joining Eversheds Sutherland (US) LLP, she was a litigation associate at a law firm in El Paso, Texas. Her previous experience includes serving as a law clerk for Sunflower Electric Power Corporation and Michigan Department of Insurance and Financial Services, Office of the General Counsel.

Ms. Morrissey graduated magna cum laude from Michigan State University College of Law, which she attended on a full tuition scholarship. During her time in law school, she served as associate editor of the Michigan State Law Review and competed on all three MSU Law alternative dispute resolution teams. In 2014, she won first place at the INADR International Law School Mediation Tournament. 

Prior to becoming an attorney, Ms. Morrissey taught English at both the M.A. and B.A. levels on a 2011-2012 Fulbright grant to Croatia after graduating Phi Beta Kappa, summa cum laude from Austin College.
