also known as Patricia Brown, Patricia L. Brown
I have been practicing law since 1997 in Austin & Round Rock, with an emphasis on people and families, focusing principally on family law and divorce. I am Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
Having gone through a divorce, and raising 2 children as a single mother, I founded my firm based on my personal philosophy: genuine empathy for men and women seeking help. I focus on understanding each client's unique needs, and strive to make complex emotional and legal situations comprehensible. I believe that tranparent communication is critical, and many of my clients report a great sense of comfort and relief while working with me.
I received my law degree from Albany Law School in 1996, after completing my final year at the University of Texas Law School in Austin. I then founded this firm in Round Rock in 1997.
I grew up in New Hampshire. I proudly served a four year tour of duty in the United States Navy, simultaneously putting myself through the University of Mississippi. After graduating from college and leaving the Navy, I was a junior high school teacher. I then relocated to Albany, NY, and while raising my family there, became an entrepreneur, starting several small businesses, before deciding to go to law school, going heavily in debt to fund it.
I love to read and listen to music. I have 9 wonderful grandchildren, a great dog and a fantastic husband.

Excellent representation and great people
I retained representation from Ms. Brown after my last attorney's office became quite liberal in their billing practices and I required excellent representation that was also affordable. Ms. Brown, and her office, are extremely patient and understanding. They take the time to make themselves availabl...

Going Downhill
We used Patricia several years ago and was greatly satisfied, she was compassionate, caring, and listened to our needs, so much that we recommended her for our son when he needed legal services. The first time we used her services the case lasted three months at the most. She took care of everything...
The client that posted this was a bankruptcy client. Her son's case was a divorce, which is a considerably different legal experience. It is not reasonable to expect these radically different cases to take the same amount of time, the same expense, or achieve the same outcome. Further, in the son's case, there were complicating factors, including a completely unexpected third party, who joined the case. This person’s involvement slowed the case, and required additional effort on our part, adding additional unnecessary costs. We were pleased that the client himself was very satisfied with the handling of his own case. We believe her son's case was handled very effectively, given the extenuating circumstances beyond our control. The son, who didn’t post, actually agreed and was satisfied with our work. We take our motto “We’re close to you” very seriously. Clients with legal concerns are often under some stress or duress, and we treat our clients with sensitivity and respect. First and foremost, we listen carefully to our clients and don’t shove some pre-determined, formulaic “solution” down their throats.
"I endorse this lawyer. Patricia is a very competent advocate who is knowledgeable on the law and she treats her clients with compassion. I would recommend her to anyone involved in a family law matter."
"Patricia was opposing counsel on a recent divorce matter involving children. I found her to be very reasonable and easy to work with, while still steadfastly representing her client. She has a very no-nonsense, common sense approach to matters, which is refreshing. Although the case was a difficult one, we were able to settle it in an amicable fashion after a lot of hard work!."
"I endorse this lawyer. I have worked with Patricia Brown many times over the years, and she has always been very professional, very reasonable, and works hard to protect her client's interests."
"I endorse this lawyer. I have known Patricia for many years, and she is a well qualified and ethical lawyer."

Resolved case in a mediation, ending the child support as my client wished.
Resolution was reached through a combination of negotiations, mediation, and hearings on some motions.
The custody issues were tried to the court, and ordered in favor of our client. The property division issues were resolved through a mediation process.
After two days of testimony presented to the jury, we requested and received a directed verdict in favor of our client.
