A bank financed a a business deal involving bowling alleys. The bank determined the business partnership was not performing as it should. So the bank took action to take the bowling alleys away from 2 ... of the partners, giving it to the other partner. The two partners sued for tortious interference (among others). The Bank's defense was it actually did the other partners a favor by taking the business away from them because it was losing money. I used my accounting background to perform a cash flow analysis, proving the bowling alleys had a substantial value.
OUTCOME: We won a reversal in Court of Appeals
Our client was shot in the leg by his neighbor with a shotgun because the neighbor negligently believed he was stealing. At the jury trial the jury failed to award sufficient damages to cover uncontes ... ted medical expenses; we appealed. The appellate court reversed the jury's decision.
OUTCOME: Jury awarded just under $100,000 to our client. I wrote the appellate brief wherein The Court of Appeals affirmed as modified.
