Took our money and ran - literally

My wife and I hired Jeremiah for our first case - we won. That's the only good part of this. After we won he sent us our bill and it had crazy charges for emails that we had to send him because his office nor him were very responsive at all, so we had to constantly email to get a response. So he ch...arged us for every email we sent and added in random fees for "services" which we couldn't even begin to know if they were actual service or if they were real or not. The dates for the charges didn't even match up with the dates some of the services took place on, which is how I knew he was making up fees just to drain our retainer. I fought the charges with my credit card company and WON. Little did I know that we would need him again. At this point I actually had no idea that Jeremiah Williams had lost the dispute or even received the dispute I made because I heard nothing about it, until today, when I got my second dispute back. The second case was actually the same thing the first was but it was not even close to the same amount of work the first one entailed but Jeremiah took on the case anyways and charged us a crazy retainer. We paid it anyways because we really had no other choice at this point. Jeremiah went to court and LOST US EVERYTHING. Our case should've been solid but Jeremiah walked in the court room and made no attempt to try and win but to "go through the steps" just to finish up our case all in spite of the charge back he received from my dispute on our first case. If I would've known that he actually got the charge back I would've never hired him, so I put my self at fault for that, but as an attorney hired to represent a client and you take the case you should do everything to win and he didn't. To top it off, Jeremiah came back into the meeting room with my wife and I and told me how I actually got it worse than my wife did which made no sense since we were in this entire thing equally, yet the guy (me) that disputed his charges ended up with the shaft. I also would give this guy 0 stars if possible. Save yourself the troubles and hire someone else.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
