James Twine was born at Fort Hood, Texas. Lived in New Jersey as a kid, and moved to Cedar Park, Texas with his family in 1993. He is a graduate of Leander High School, received a Bachelor’s Degree from Texas A&M University, a Masters in Public Administration from Texas State University, and a Juris Doctorate from Texas Southern Thurgood Marshall School of Law.
Before becoming an attorney, he worked as a proofreader at the Texas State Senate Engrossing and Enrolling Office during a legislative session, as an underwriter for an insurance company, and a writer for a local business paper. He later worked as a clerk in the Williamson County District Clerk’s Office. He eventually moved to a position as an office specialist for Williamson County Court at Law #2. From there, he became a paralegal for the University of Texas at San Antonio. Before heading to law school, he was a legal assistant for a criminal defense attorney.
James enjoys spending his free time at his daughter’s basketball and soccer games. He loves spending time on the Lake with his friends and family. When time permits he is always looking to attend live music events and festivals.

I received very bad advice and I am living with the results of that every day of my life. James told me that the prosecutor was offering a lesser charge, the deal was reducing the charge to a misdemeanor. He said it was a "nothing" charge and would not affect my future.
