I spent the first decade of my legal career with the Hays County District Attorney’s Office, where I dedicated my practice to protecting children, supporting victims of domestic violence, and pursuing civil justice with integrity. I began as a law clerk and, once licensed, became a civil prosecutor handling every aspect of complex civil litigation. In 2017, I was promoted to Chief of the Civil Division, where I had the privilege of leading a team of assistant district attorneys, paralegals, and law clerks.
My experience as a civil prosecutor gives me a unique advantage in handling highly contested family law matters, including child custody modifications, termination of parental rights, and civil jury trials. I have prepared more than 17 civil jury trials and argued a dozen to verdict. My background also includes extensive work in post-conviction appeals, oral arguments before Texas appellate courts, and filings involving writs, protective orders, forfeitures, expunctions, nondisclosures, mental health commitments, open records issues, and law enforcement advisement.
Today, as a partner at Huckaby Hicks, PLLC, I bring the same level of preparation, strategy, and commitment to every client I represent. I take pride in helping families navigate some of the most challenging moments of their lives with clarity and confidence.
As both an attorney and a small-business owner—and as a wife and mother of two energetic young children—I understand how legal issues affect the entire family. That perspective helps me see the big picture in every case and develop a thoughtful, strategic plan tailored to each client’s goals. While no two cases are alike, many of the most complex issues are best understood through the lens of both a parent and a professional.
My goal is to provide strong advocacy, honest guidance, and steady support—whether your case is resolved through negotiation, mediation, or trial.
