Cynthia Laura Benavides

Cindy Benavides has been a licensed attorney in Weslaco, Texas for over 19 years. She's a graduate of La Feria High School, the University of Texas at Austin (B.A.) and Texas Tech University, where she graduated with her Jurisdoctorate and a Master of Business Administration (MBA).

After 10 years at a respected law firm, Cindy opened Benavides Law Firm. She has dedicated her practice to real estate, estate planning, probate, business law and personal injury. In 2020, Cindy joined forces with Edwards Abstract & Title Company by opening their Mid-Valley branch location in Weslaco, Texas.

Cindy’s personal mission is to give to her community in purposeful ways. She helps qualifying families with special needs children to obtain guardianships, pro bono. Her growing social media on TikTok, Instagram & Facebook is geared to close the gap on misinformation by educating her community on legal matters.

She sits on the state-wide organization known as the Texas Lawyers’ Insurance. There, she is able to provide a minority voice for over 6,000 lawyers in the State of Texas. She is heavily awarded by her own peers in the Hidalgo County Bar Association, garnering many awards over her career, including, Member of the Year, the Above and Beyond Award and the Pro Bono Award in 2024. She was recently recognized by her own Weslaco business community as The Chamber’s 2024 Woman of the Year.

She is a dedicated wife to her husband of 17 years, Alex Benavides. She is also a loving mother to her two sons, AJ and Bo.
