Ortega and his family moved to Weslaco and there he attended and graduated from Weslaco High School. Ortega attended Texas Christian University for his undergraduate degree in criminal justice and St. Mary’s University School of Law where he earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence.

Ortega owns and operates the Alamo-based Anthony M. Ortega Law, PLLC. and he represents clients on various issues such as Personal Injury, Real Estate, Criminal Defense, and Divorce.

He has served as a board member of Freedom Bank for four years and is also active in supporting causes like the Make-A-Wish Foundation. He is also part of the Hidalgo County Young Lawyer’s Association.
