This was my first lawsuit. We started the case in 11/04 and settled it on 06/10/06. There were some frustrations and anger along the way and in particular, if we should settle the case or go to trial and also regarding the settlement amount. Furthermore, I had some frustrations with the on-going deta...iled account of my personal property removed and personal history. As with many lawsuits, the defendant did not want to accept liablity and did not want to pay. When the defendant is a company and the plaintiff is an individual with limited funds, the defendant will delay the case as long as possible. We decided to settle the case since we never know what the jury will award and the defendant could appeal and continue to delay the outcome and add more costs to the case. I also had another attorney review my attorney during the highest level of my frustration in March/April 2006.. To conclude, my attorney did his job reasonable well and settling the case was the right thing to do. When both sides are not happy with the settlement amount, then it was probably the right amount.
