Do not hire this attorney!

I had a Workman's comp case with Kelly Matthews. We won our hearing after my claim was denied by Zurich Ins. However, I have a contested case hearing in one week. I have left numerous messages for Kelly Matthews for 3 weeks she has not returned my calls. My Doctors office has been emailing regarding ...what information to send to Kelly Matthews to assist in the upcoming hearing and AGAIN she has failed to reply. I made my last phone call and advised her paralegal how dissatisfied I am with no communication and a huge upcoming hearing. Kelly Matthews send me a withdraw letter stating I have degraded her and her staff. So now I have no representation for my upcoming hearing in one week and she is still going to receive payments out of my workman's compensation!!! Beware of this attorney who will drop you but not your money when you need her the most!

Worker's Comp Claim

Well, I need to start by saying that I had no clue what a beast it is to file a Workers Compensation Claim. I tried as long as I could to personally oversea my claim and the process of my claim. Once I was convinced that Workers Comp is not a friend of mine nor the injured employee, I hired the firm ...at Kelly A Matthews. My assigned lawyer is Kristen Hunter and her trusted paralegal, Melissa Johnson. They set up expectations early on and told me to hold on tight and that I was about to enter into a volatile game of "prove my injury and honesty." They were right on the money. It is incredible that we, the injured employees, need to fight for the rights that were supposed to protect us in these cases. I will admit that the wait is frustrating and nerve racking, but it is of no fault of my attorney and staff. I place blame on the Insurance Agency and the Texas Commission Worker's Compensation Agency. The hoops that are in place can only be best fought with a knowledgeable Attorney and Firm like Kelly A Matthews. Seriously, someone needs to monitor the process and fix it to benefit the injured employee so that we can get back on our feet and back to work in a safe environment. I am so thrilled and at ease that I have Ms. Hunter and Ms. Johnson directing my case. I must also mention that it is imperative that us clients stay calm and organized and keep your attorney informed at all times. We also need to help them help us by following all guidelines and attending all appointments. I am certain that my up coming case will be handled efficiently and professionally. If the outcome is not what we are hoping for, then I trust that I and my law firm did everything in our power to be honest and accurate with our statements and material. I will fight to the end and hoping for a favorable and just outcome in January.

Do not hire her!

Don't let her certification fool you!! This was a first time for me to hire a lawyer to represent me for an on the job injury. I was very surprised to see that she did the same thing to me as she did to the other person who wrote a review. After a year of taking 25% of compensation, and she got her ...max fee allowed, she dropped my case one week before my hearing basically leaving me alone at the most crucial moment! The communication and service was awful and very disappointing. It is obvious she only is interested in getting paid, and not helping the injured worker!
