Alison Marie Hicks

Allison and her staff initially were very helpful and friendly, but when I was not able to pay a large payment each month, everything changed. Initially she wanted to drop my case , but the opposing attorney was against. My own attorney, Allison ultimately became my biggest regret. She never returned... calls. It was always her assistant who answered the phone or returned emails. She was not truthful with me about my options and when the other attorney requested anything, she did not fight for me or my situation. She just wanted to be done with the case. Also if you have any military background, neither her or her staff is very knowledgeable about being deployed or laws of the military.

It started off good......this attorney bit wayyy more than she could chew for her practice!!! She has NOOO intention in ever updating you or listening to you after the initial consultation!!! Her assistant promises things and doesnt keep his word. 100% disorganized office/people.... neverrrr returns ...phone calls or emails! It's a nightmare within a nightmare!!!

I hired Alison for a child custody modification and as someone who is related to a former chief justice on the 4th court of appeals in San Antonio, I can say she is a horrendous attorney. I have proof in emails and phone records of how negligent she was, and so many bills where new charges were added... on with no explanation and no work completed. To say she dropped the ball on my case is an understatement, she put my daughter's safety at risk. Please do not hire this dishonest, ignorant attorney. You WILL regret it. I can also say that when I hired Alison in June of 2014, she had hardly any reviews on this site, so I know that she is having her staff (Tim) write positive reviews for her. Speaking of staff, she has no associates as the title of her practice would suggest, and her assistant is an uneducated liar as well. You can expect Alison to raise rates without notifying you, go months without returning calls or emails, personally jeopardize your case, make tons of excuses, and find any way possible to prolong your case so that she can rob you even more. Do yourself a favor and pay a little higher retainer for a QUALITY attorney, not a wannabe prominent attorney who is more like a "used car salesman".

Alison did not come thru as she stated at my initial consultation. Phone calls and emails go unanswered, documentation goes missing. Charges continue to accrue for no reason since there is no work performed on her end. Once you finally threaten to terminate her servcies, then she will respond arg...uementavily towards you. She makes up excuses to avoid meeting with you when you continue to ask to meet in person. She is far from what any client would ever want to hire as an attorney. This entire time was nothing but a disgrace. Lessons learned.

1. She is unresponsive and will nickel and dime you on emails, phone calls, asking for billing information, etc 2. Her staff goes through a revolving door and the latest paralegal, Tim, is a liar (I have emails proving it) and will nickel and dime you also for any communication. 3. Her bills are ve...ry vague and when asking for an itemized bill she will charge you $1 per page. 4. Forced us to go to mediation to "prepare" for court. Wasted thousands of dollars on nothing. 5. Asked for refund of money that we were making payment plans on, she decided to lie and say she had given us a discount to retain her as our lawyer and the money we've paid so far is the amount she expected as payment. Do not hire her. She is not a professional lawyer.
