Sylvia Ann Cavazos

She was at her best BEFORE I signed her contract and paid her a large amount of money. Beyond that point, sadly, she was pretty awful. Did not return calls with 48 hours, or at all. Refused to schedule an appointment to discuss my case. She was too busy and I had to be ready to talk when she dec...ided to call me. Very strange, too. Periodically, she'd speak a kind of "valley girl" speak that was difficult to follow and less than confidence inspiring. Lots of "It was like" and "he was like" and "then like" blah, blah, blah. Unprofessional and inarticulate, to say the least. Filed NO motions, on my behalf, until I asked her about motions. Then she filed one. I cut her loose after a few months and just before my next court date. Outcome? My new attorney had my case dismissed, for lack of evidence, and the entire event expunged from my record. He did that in, at most, 15 minutes of conferring with the prosecutor. Was my new lawyer that good?? Sure. he's a good lawyer and he's competent. Why was it so easy for him? There was NO evidence, no case against me and I was innocent. It was pretty low hanging fruit. But, Sylvia Cavazos couldn't even pick the "low hanging fruit". I'd be very, very concerned for anyone who any one who chose Sylvia Cavazzos as a defense lawyer. Very concerned.

Ms. Cavazos represented my son from May 2010- Nov 2010. This was a very stressful and difficult time for our family. Our son has never been in trouble yet alone done nothing bad. So when we were told what he was being accused of, it blew us all away. I knew my son would never do what they were accusi...ng him of. We were all torn apart, especially my son. It was so hard to enroll him in an alternative school, I was crying so bad, the counslor had to calm me down. He was so unhappy and depressed and I hated to see him like that. Ms. Cavazos was referred to us by a family friend. When we went to meet with her it was like God had sent us an angel, she was so respectful and caring. She sat there so professional and reassured my son that everything was going to be okay, and for him to keep his head held high. I could tell she was going to do all she could do to prove my son innocent. She would either call us or email me to give me updates. She would even call when she was out of town, no matter what question I had she always got back to me with an answer. It took six months, it felt longer, however Ms. Cavazos came through and proved my son innocent. I thank god for bringing her to us everyday, she is a wonderful person, we were truely blessed to have her represent our son. Thank you Ms. Cavazos!

Ms. Cavazos is a very experienced and dedicated attorney that will focus on the immediacy of her client’s issues. The outcome of her client’s cases is her number one priority. Ms. Cavazos represented my juvenile daughter in 2010 and I will never be able to thank her to the extent she deserves. The judicial process that my daughter was involved in was played out over 18 months, but In every crisis that came along, Ms. Cavazos was totally ahead of the curve. At the detent...ion center, she was able to access my daughter and reassure her, even when I wasn't able to. By the time it got to court, she had excellent relationships with everybody involved, including the clerks, baliffs, district attorneys and the judges. During this whole process, Ms. Cavazos had an optimistic, confident and professional manner. She communicated in a way that showed respect and concern for my daughter and when it was all over, Ms. Cavazos brought us closer together. She had the right perspective, and never let us forget that it was an unfortunate thing that happened, but that we would get through it and learn and grow from it. Ms. Cavazos truly cared for my daughter, and she continued to inquire about her even after her case was resolved. As for the cost, she was very reasonable, even honest!
