Overdue update (original review on goo*le): A family member and I met with Anne Shevlin (I’ll refer to her as Anne) for the business at hand shortly after posting the above review. She didn’t disappoint. The legal service we sought was executed seamlessly and efficiently. We delt with Anne direct...ly. I appreciate how friendly and personable, yet direct and knowledgeable she was. All of the paperwork was prepared before our arrival, and she went through it with us line-by-line, explaining everything and patiently answering all our questions. Even the random, personal, and largely irrelevant (relative to why we were there) questions my family member asked. Lol. He’s naturally carefree, very inquisitive, and somewhat unpredictable (for the good or the bad). But Anne wasn’t fazed by this. When he randomly tossed her a question out of left field, she just tossed it right back, not missing a beat. Haha. She naturally engaged him throughout our appointment, while simultaneously tending to the business at hand. She never got flustered or impatient. She was kind, yet always professional. I was inwardly amused by their side-conversations. Regarding work-integrity, I respected that Anne spent one-on-one time with my family member to make sure he understood why we were there, the service she was providing, and to confirm he was a willing participant. And he was very vocal with his opinions. In fact, at one point, as she was going through the paperwork with both of us, he called for a change in the legal agreement that I had not expected. And Anne promptly respected his wishes, and the change was made right then and there. And, although this was not a change I preferred, it was 100% legally appropriate and Anne didn’t hesitate to make it. I was very pleased with this, because my fam had a legitimate voice in this process, whereas so often his voice is ignored and all decision-making is directed at me, regardless of how appropriate it is or not. The above-named qualities might not be deal-breakers for most people, but they are for me. Because, while many professionals are excellent at what they do, they often lack the patience and skill to work with people who are ‘different’ than mainstream society. Some providers just ignore them, and some are downright mean. Personally, no matter how skilled someone is in their field, if they don’t have the aptitude to kindly and appropriately deal with my loved one, they are not the right provider for us. Anne exceeded my expectations in this, and other areas. Speaking of ‘other areas,’ I sought Anne’s legal service again for an unrelated matter just a few months ago. Once again, she offered a free phone consultation, she listened thoroughly and gave me excellent feedback. I learned of legal options I hadn’t considered and some I didn’t even knew existed. She was very timely in preparing the necessary paperwork (within 24-48 hours). But things changed on my end, and I explained to Anne that I’m not going to need this service after all. She graciously wished me the best and offered her services for any future work, should I need it. I was very surprised that she didn’t bill me for the time she had invested to that point. Fair is fair, so I brought it up and invited her to invoice me for the time spent, but she declined. :o C’mon now. Where are you going to find a better lawyer ?? I definitely recommend Anne Shevlin/Law Office of Anne Shevlin.

Anne was knowledgeable, responsive, and represented us well. She was always well-prepared for the hearings, and provided great counsel when we (especially my spouse) got nervous about how things were proceeding. We never had to wonder about the status of our case, as she kept us up-to-day all along... the way. We're so happy that Anne was able to help us as foster parents in a CPS case. She guided us all along the path to adoption. We couldn't be more pleased with her services and the outcome.

Anne Shevlin was an answered prayer. I had used 2 other lawyers in San Antonio. What they couldn't/wouldn't do in 9 years, Anne was able to complete in THREE MONTHS! She was kind, understanding, always available for a phone call, easy to understand and quick to explain. She honestly made me feel ...like I mattered to her and she saw the importance of finalizing this case for the safety and well-being of my granddaughter. I felt like she was someone I had known for a long time...she treated me like family. I Highly recommend Anne Shevlin!

I recommend any one who is needing representation from a great lawyer. Anne Shevlin helped me with my case . I was dealing with cps and being a custodial parent of my 3 grand kids.
