I have been Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 1995. Family law Makes up the majority of my law practice. I am very familiar with the Courts in Grimes County, as well as most of the Courts in Waller, Walker, Washington, Madison, and Brazos Counties. I regularly work with some of the finest attorneys practicing in these courts, and have established an excellent working relationship with them and with the Courts in order to best serve my clients. I believe that a mutually agreed settlement is the best outcome in most family law cases, and I make it a point to support and encourage an informed and earnest negotiation process. However, settlement is not always possible. In those cases where a trial is necessary, I have the experience, resources, and abilities to be a very effective advocate for my clients. While no attorney can guarantee a particular result in the vast majority of cases, I truly believe I give my clients their best chance for a successful outcome at trial.

I also have significant experience in Probate and Guardianship cases, including litigation of Will contests and other issues. I have met the State mandated requirements to handle guardianship cases and to serve as an attorney ad liter in such cases. I also prepare Wills, Powers of Attorney, Living Wills, and other essential estate planning documents.

In the area of personal injury, I represent injured motorists in accident cases involving bodily injury. For very large cases requiring significant investment of developement costs, I associate additional counsel with the resources necessary to fully assist clients in their claims. In such cases, I work hand in hand with excellent associated counsel at no additional expense to clients.

In all of my areas of practice, I am mindful that our legal system can be intimidating, if not frightening, to many of the people most in need of legal services. It can also be very expensive. As a result, I spend a significant amount of time making sure clients understand the risk/benefit analysis in their case so that they can make informed decisions on exactly what course of action best serves them.
