During her time at Baylor, Kate was selected to serve as a Judicial Intern for The Honorable Zack Hawthorn in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. As an attorney, Kate continues to volunteer through the Jefferson County Bar Association Pro Bono Program and Veteran’s Legal Clinic.
In the community, Kate is an active member of the Symphony League of Beaumont, the Junior League of Beaumont and the Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals Organization. In 2018, she received the Junior League Provisional of the Year Award, which celebrates a new member who has gone above and beyond in exemplifying the organization’s commitment to public service. Kate is a member of the State Bar of Texas’ Real Property, Probate, and Trust Law Section and Business Law Section. She is also a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the Jefferson County Bar Association, the Southeast Texas Estate Planning Council, the Texas Aggie Bar Association, and the Jefferson County Young Lawyers Association, where she currently serves on the board.
