Attorney Drawhorn is a great person an Attorney. Attorney Drawhorn will always support and work in the client's best interests. I and my family have hired her on several cases and just general legal documentation for other reasons. Her passion for her clients goes unmeasurable and she goes above and beyond than others I have hired to do legal work. Her professionalism stands out when you first meet her and her passion for profession is very strong. She is well rounded and a down to earth person and Attorney who will give you all the necessary information before going to court or just general things. I recommend her and stand Strong behind her as a client.
During a bad situation in my life Carolyn and her team helped me with compassion and understanding. I would recommend her to anyone that needs an attorney.
Carolyn Drawhorn Wiedenfeld was born in 1960, in Port Arthur, Texas, and grew up in nearby Port Neches, Texas. She was the daughter of C.W. and Inez Drawhorn, a local M.D. and his wife. Carolyn was the youngest of five siblings. She graduated from Port Neches-Groves High School in 1978, and from Texas A&M University in 1982, In 1983, Carolyn married and gave birth to the first of her four children. Ms. Wiedenfeld began teaching Language Arts at Groves Middle School in 1995, after the birth of her children, and she remained there until she entered South Texas College of Law in 1998, at the age of 38. As a 38 year old mother of four school-aged children in Nederland, Texas, Ms. Wiedenfeld's law school experience was different than most. She commuted approximately 90 miles to Houston for class, after dropping kids off at school. After a the class day, she drove another 90 miles home. After arriving home at around 5:00, it was time to take the kids to soccer, tennis and gymnastics. Her weekends were spent as "soccer mom", or other kids' activities. With four children and a 180 mile commute, she had little time to study. However, her perseverance paid off, and Ms. Wiedenfeld was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in November of 2001, at the age of 41. Upon graduation from law school in 2001, Ms. Wiedenfeld worked as an associate attorney until 2005. Since then, she has been a solo practitioner, with her practice focused primarily on family and criminal law. Ms. Wiedenfeld is a single mother of four grown children, and the proud grandmother of two boys. She is a member of Cathedral Church in Beaumont, Texas.

The 1 star is Fake he was not even a client
Carolyn is a great lawyer. She take everything to heart and personal. I get so sick and tired of people allowed to do reviews and never being clients.

Caring, smart and hardworking lawyer
Carolyn helped me through a difficult divorce. She fights hard when necessary, but avoids unnecessary drama. She my ex-wife and I get through the worst part by keeping the best interests of our kids the priority. I owe her big!

Family Court
Carolyn assisted my husband in keeping the best interest of his three children in mind when it came to physical custody as well as school district choices for the children. We went into the court room prepared for the best outcome for the children, and we won!

Would recommend this practice to anyone!
We have seen several lawyers for advice on child custody. For the first time we felt like we were actually being helped and taken care of. Anytime we have a question or problem Carolyn and her staff are always there to help. We can't thank them enough for what all they have done for our family.

Last Will and Testament and related work
Carolyn put together a Last Will and Testament together, a Medical Power of Attorney, and a Statutory Durable Power of Attorney for me. She was able to answer my questions about certain things and put together the documents that reflected what was needed. She had all of the documents prepared in a short period of time, and had a special appointment set aside to come in and sign the documents. The appointment was conducted with reverence and respect for the importance of signing these documents. The cost was very reasonable and I would recommend this attorney to others.

Very Satisfied Client
My experience with Carolyn Wiedenfeld has led me to write a review to express some positive feedback. She did absolutely amazing! The service was done to my satisfaction and my case came out better than I could have hoped for. I would definitely recommend Carolyn Wiedenfeld to anyone that needs justice to be served!

Couldn't have asked for anyone better.
I hired Carolyn to help me get custody of my son. We went to a temporary hearing and I have custody. I am confident that I will get permanent custody at our final hearing.

Job Well Done
I am pleased to say that this stage of my life is finally behind me. Last year, I was charged with DWI. Unfortunately, I was guilty and the video showed it. Ms. Wiedenfeld represented me from start to finish. Because I have never been in trouble before, she got me accepted into a program called "pretrial diversion". When I finish this "pretrial probation" successfully, I can have my record expunged! Also, Ms. Wiedenfeld encouraged me to go to rehab, which I did. At this point, I have 185 days sober!

Electronic Monitor of Parole
I would like to know how to get off of it, because I have been on the electronic monitor for parole longer than should, and I would appreciate it very much if you would explain to me how I get off of the electronic monitor so I can live a normal life?

the good reviews on here are fake
I hired Carolyn to handle my divorce. Like a fool, I paid the full fee upfront, 4500. She wouldn't respond to emails or phone messages for months at a time. She was two hours late to my court date after I had drove 10 hours to be there. In court I had to do the negotiating myself, because Carolyn was unaggressive and folded like a leaf. Then when the divorce decree was sent to me it did not reflect what had been agreed-upon in court. Carolyn did not so much as read the document before sending it to me. That was over a year ago. And to this day I have never received a modified decree, nor signed any decree. Carolyn took my money and did maybe 8hrs of work on my case. I hope shes disbarred.

Better Off Going Somewhere Else
Extremely poor work ethic. Way overpriced - I now know. Would go months without hearing from her. I thought my ex-wife was stalling, then found out that she never sent my wife's attorney the paperwork they'd requested. But at the same time, she had no problem asking for more money. I ended up sending the paperwork myself. She completely flubbed a simple uncontested divorce. I did most of the work. You'd be FAR better off hiring someone else.

Not Happy With This Firm
I was not happy with the law office. The staff and the attorney herself I found to be very unprofessional in their performance as a group representing the law. If someone were to ask me if I could recommend them my answer would be no. My dealings were less than satisfactory. I was not represented well at all. On a scale from one to ten this law office rates a one star. My money was taken and the work was not completed due to outside interference which should have been ignored. Was not questioned at all but accepted against me as a client. I would have thought it proper they discuss with me prior to any action being taken.
Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

Relationship: Worked together on matter
"I've worked with Carolyn on several cases. When I moved back to town, Carolyn helped me get my practice up and running. I assisted Carolyn on multiple contested matters including trials. The matters I've worked on with Carolyn include contract disputes, family law matters (divorce, child custody, adoption), criminal matters, real estate matters, and probate matters.
My first turn if I have a family or criminal law question is Carolyn. Carolyn is kind, compassionate, and experienced."
