Unfathomably Rude

I can not recommend this attorney to anyone, for any reason. Upon calling, I was treated with complete disrespect. Troy was rude, insensitive, and seemed to simply not understand how an actual conversation works. He cut me off repeatedly and refused to answer any of my questions. I understand that so...me lawyers don't offer free consultations. I would have been fine with that answer and may have set up an appointment with him, had he simply said "we don't do free consultations", rather than the travesty that flowed from his mouth. Here's a quick transcript of our conversation: TROY: Law office!? ME: Hi, my name is Devin Young. I'm calling because I would like to file for early termination of probation, and have a few questions. TROY: Mr. Young, what do you do for a living? ME: I work in IT... TROY: When you do your work, do you get paid for it? Because, as a lawyer, I expect to get paid for my time. You don't answer questions for free, neither do I. ME: Well I understand that, but I... TROY: You must be calling to set up an appointment, because that's the only way I'll answer your questions. ME: No. I won't be using you anyway. TROY: Good. Bottom line - If Troy expects to gain any new clients or maintain his current ones, he should learn the intricacies of customer courtesy, RESPECT for his fellow man, and proper phone etiquette. If I could give less than one star, I would.

great all around attorney

Troy is a great attorney he has represented me in several different legal matters, Criminal, Civil, and contracts. He knows the law very well does all he can for his clients. He is also a caring individual which is hard to find in an attorney these days.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
