Attorney Jorge Lopez was born in Mexico City, but raised in Baytown, Texas. As a young man Mr. Lopez volunteered extensively in the local community with Crime Stoppers, Kiwanas Club International, and other service organizations. He then attended the University of Texas at Austin, graduating in just three years, with a Bachelors of Arts in History, and a minor in Government.

While attending Thurgood Marshall School of Law, he distinguished himself by earning an internship in the Texas State Legislature, interned for a Federal Judge, and graduated magna cum laude.

Jorge understands that in civil litigation, the client needs more than a lawyer who knows the law. Cases require guidance, support, and commitment to his client’s goals.

Divorce
I hired Mr. Lopez to handle my divorce after going to many consultations with different attorneys. He was truthful from the beginning regarding my case and the process went extremely smooth. He always returned my calls in a timely manner and kept me informed every step of the way. I highway recommend this attorney in fact I hired him again regarding another case.

We hired Mr. Lopez for the custody of a child, He was very upfront and honest with us about how the case could/ could not go our way. He was honest about cost and legal process. Even when we wanted things to go our way and they didn't his regards was always for the safety of our son and the well being of him. He was always on time with appointments at the office or when we had court. Very professional and family oriented. Loved working with Mr. Lopez and his firm..

Reliable
Jorge handled my divorce case. I originally wanted to proceed "Pro Se" until my ex hired an attorney who began harassing me. The stress became too much I paid Jorge to proceed as my attorney and he always answered my calls or emails; he made the process as smooth as possible and was realistic with me even if it was not what I wanted to hear. He was always on time and I did not have to worry about him doing his part he always came through and educated me on what my rights were and when not to worry when my ex's lawyer was filing crazy motions. I would highly recommend him!

Slowest divorce ever
For a non-contested divorce this has taken 8 months. All information was given to Mr. Lopez and was never attached to my file. At one point I waited 3 weeks for a return call/e-mail. Once I gave him our agreed split it was over two months for a court date. Then the QUDO had to be amended because of an error. Still not settled at this point.
