All Talk, No Action

Mr. Lovett is an expansive, impressive talker but produced zero for me except to waste my time. Ultimately, in the long run, he accomplished ZERO except to discourage and depress my spirits so that I don't feel like trying to find another lawyer. He, with total lack of conscience, wasted several mont...hs doing NOTHING that he promised, in a case that only has two years of time to prosecute. He led me on, having me believe he was searching for an 'expert' for my medical malpractice case. I have saved many texts from his wife/paralegal, and also met with him in person. Several months went by and no expert was ever produced. His office failed to keep in touch or to tell me the simple truth. I had to finally force him to tell me what was really going on, which was NOTHING. I texted and called and was run around with stalls and excuses. Since he had verbally, in person, PROMISED to find and pay for an expert, I believed him. Then came the red flags. At one point I was told they would need a medical release form but I was never called in to the office to sign one. He deftly avoided telling me that he was doing nothing. Experts are not that difficult to find, even for elective surgery, and he knew what the surgeon had done wrong from the get-go. He saw for himself the facial deformity that I suffer with his own eyes. I feel this case would have been easily settled. To this day I don't understand the disingenuous nature of this man and his wife/paralegal. Again, he verbally promised me, to my face, in his office, that he would personally locate an expert and pay for it so that we could proceed with the case. The offending surgeon has a terrible record with the Texas Medical Board and underwent psychiatric evaluation that I was unaware of beforehand. Mr. Lovett was aware of this, and even printed out pages from the Board's website about this doctor and handed them to me. I have a legitimate deformity caused by the surgeon's negligence in cutting into a facial muscle that should not have been involved in the surgical protocol. All he had to say was NO to me at the start, and I would have accepted it. I urge caution in hiring him.

We are sorry that you feel you had a bad experience with our firm. We strive for the utmost client satisfaction in every case that we accept. You were initially advised that it was unlikely you had a claim that we would be interested in pursuing on your behalf. However, although you never became a client of our firm, we did take the time to evaluate your potential complaint against the physician as a courtesy. Thereafter, we formally rejected the matter and referred you to three medical malpractice lawyers with over 16 months remaining on the 2 year statute of limitations. I must reiterate what was stated to you previously: "I know that it will be difficult for you to accept. That is why I encourage you, if you are so inclined, to seek a second opinion. The fact that I have decided not to take the case does not necessarily mean you do not have a claim. You may find an attorney who, after conducting a thorough investigation and evaluation of the claim, reaches a completely different conclusion. I do not take every case or claim that I review; therefore, if you have any doubts, I urge you to contact another attorney to review this matter immediately."
