Jason Alexander Hawks

We needed to have some updates to our trust. I spoke to Jason Hawks and explained what we wanted to do. He told me he would look at our documents, and the consultation would be $125. During the consult, Mr. Hawks kept asking questions and chit chatting about things unrelated to the topic. We thought ...he was just being friendly and trying to get to know us. We had a 2 hour meeting, and at the end of the visit, he said it would be $300. When I brought up the fee he quoted me on the phone, his demeaner became demanding and rude, saying "You have to pay me for my time. My fee is $425/hour. You got a good deal". When someone quotes me a fee for a consult, I expect him to mind the time and stick to the quote provided. In hindsight, I suspect Mr. Hawks forgot he gave us that quote, and was trying to drive up the fee by chit chatting during the meeting. We did not do business with Mr. Hawks as all integrity and trust was destroyed by his unethical behavior. He lost work he likely would have gotten had he stuck to the quote. Apparently $175 (the difference between the quote and what he charged) was more important to him than his reputation.

Jason failed to transfer the deed of the property when he sent the will to probate court. I have been told by people at the Probate office he IS the one who is responsible for that! This made it impossible to deal with the mortgage company since only our mother was on the mortgage. For having 25 year...s experience, he sure didn't understand his responsibilities in this action. He became very rude when asked about this and frankly charged $500 more than other attorneys. Not happy with Jason Hawk as an attorney!
