Throughout the time I worked with Mr. Clinton, both he and his staff were unresponsive and incompetent in the most basic matters of state law. The advice was at times so poor (and the advocacy still worse) that I considered reporting him to the state bar association. Ultimately, I made the decision... not to pursue this as the legal advice, while grossly incompetent, did not necessarily constitute malpractice. He was paid to provide representation in a divorce but allowed the opposing attorney to draft all documents. He was both uninformed and unresponsive when posed questions regarding the drafted documents. Many questions ultimately went unanswered and the final settlement appears written to bring closure to this matter without regard to the interests of his client (by whom he was paid to serve as an advocate). The agreed to divorce settlement allowed my ex to keep a car with financing in my name. Late payments have since impacted my credit score. Simply advocating selling the car (even at a loss) would have served me better (and allowed me to not be inextricably tied to my ex for years.) The settlement signed lacked basic checkpoints and provisions for items due to me from my ex. Similar provisions were include for items due from me to my ex. Needless to say, I became aware of this when my ex did not meet the agreed upon provisions.
