Christopher Mackensen Thornhill

Back in 2006 I had debt troubles. I was sued by a company that purchased the debt. I was never served the law suit and not knowing about the case i lost and had a default judgement placed against me. I never heard a word on this case until last year when i was contacted by a attorney acting as a ...receiver to collect the debt. By now this debt had ballooned up to 15k+. This receiver then had my bank account froze. I talked to serveral other lawyers and wasnt presented much hope. I spoke with Chris and he assured me he could help. He was very straight forward, honest and professional. He was easy to speak with and very realistic about all the possible outcomes, even bad ones but was confident he could help. Long story short, because i was never served we filed a Bill of Review that got rid of the judgement. The original case was reopened and was dismissed. I settled with debt holder for 1k, which obviously is a fraction of the 15k+. This was an awful situation but i was extremely pleased with how Chris was abled to solve this problem.

When I got served papers by a debt collection agency that they were sueing me for collection on an old debt, I didn't know if this was legal and if they could even do this (it is and they can). Needless to say I was at a loss as to what to do. I was very fortunate to find Christopher who not only exp...lained everything that was going on, but walked me thru the process before, during and after. He not only got my cases dropped but with no money going to the collection agency itself. He has a great personality, and explains things in non-lawyer terms for novices like me. Excellent work at a fair price too, I could not have been more pleased.

My wife had a credit card while in college that got sent to collections. The debt was apparently sold to a debt buying firm that was less than reputable. We paid the entire amount off in one payment and thought it was all taken care of. Eight years later while buying a new hole we found that the firm... took the money and never filed to close the judgement. We contacted Christopher Thornhill for help as we were told about his record and he came highly recommended. He was professional, easy to talk to and made us feel confidant the issue would be resolved. He researched the debt firm and found that they went out of business for poor and often illegal practices. Our first thought upon hearing this was that we were in trouble because tracking them down and getting a release of judgement would be next to impossible. However, Mr. Thornhill contacted the original card company and their legal office. After speaking with them and showing proof of our payment to their debt buyers and explaining the situation, they agreed to release the judgment. The card company began dragging their feet and we were not seeing any movement on receiving the release. So, Mr. Thornhill began preparing a law suit against them and let them know that the wait was unacceptable at that point. The card company then immediately sent the release of judgement to the court and our problems were over. If you have any legal issues regarding debt, I can't recommend him highly enough. Excellent job all the way around and a great guy.
