Matthew B. Alford

Matt Alford is a sixth generation Texan born in Denton. After graduating from high school in Denton, Matt graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1988 with a degree in Communications. In 1991, Matt completed his law degree from the University of Houston Law Center. Beginning his legal career, Matt practiced civil litigation with a Houston law firm. Realizing that his interest had always been with criminal law, Matt became an assistant district attorney with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office in 1992. By 1997, Matt had risen to the level of felony prosecutor and was entrusted to handle the most serious offenses. He received a 95% success rate at trial.

Matt entered private practice with his own law firm in 1997, and he now defends the criminally accused. Matt has defended virtually every type of criminal case and enjoys an outstanding success rate. Matt’s methods are aggressive and direct. Due to his experience and background, he can tailor the best defense for each client’s needs. In 2001, on the recommendation of Judges and colleagues, Matt earned the Board Certification in Criminal Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Matt is fluent in Spanish.
