DO NOT HIRE THIS ATTORNEY! We hired The Law Offices of Eduardo Garcia to help after our family member was arrested and detained in an ICE facility. Her family and friends pooled together to come up with the $7000 they requested. This firm did absolutely nothing and didn't even try to help. They didn...'t give us a contract. They didn't come up with any plan to help her. They never met her in person at all. She was deported days after we paid them the $7000. We requested the retainer fee to be returned. They refused any refund at all. I see in other reviews they pretend not to know who the person leaving the review is or state that they didn't have a case with them. I'm sure they will try to say that in response to this review as well. We have documented proof of payment, transaction receipts, call logs, and detention records proving this representation existed. ​If you have had a similar experience with this office, report them immediately to the relevant regulatory bodies: ​State Bar Disciplinary Counsel: File a formal grievance for unearned fee retention and client abandonment. You can also apply for reimbursement through the State Bar’s Client Security Fund. ​DOJ Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR): Submit Form EOIR-44 to the EOIR Disciplinary Counsel, which sanctions immigration practitioners who fail to represent detained clients. ​State Attorney General – Consumer Protection Division: File a complaint regarding unfair trade practices and non-performance of contracted legal services. ​Formal regulatory complaints have already been initiated, and a civil claim for recovery of unearned funds is proceeding in court. Proceed with extreme caution.
