Adoption

Chris helped me from start to finish for my daughters adoption. Everything she did, she did with my daughters best interest in mind. Thanks to her, our family has been made whole!

Great lawyer with a great assistant!

I hired Chris for my divorce. I was convinced initially by my spouse's attorney that I didn't need an attorney because she was preparing the divorce decree. Before signing that decree I thought I'd ask Chris to look it over. My friend used her and spoke highly of her. He was actually referred to her ...by another attorney. Chris helped me understand that the decree was unfair and I was entitled to more than I thought I was. I felt like I didn't deserve much because my income was lower than my spouse's. She helped me understand it wasn't about right or wrong or who made more. She knew what I was legally entitled to and she helped me get it. She did everything she told me she would. She was also prompt in returning calls, texts, and emails. Her assistant Darby was also great. They are extremely nice and truly care. More importantly they know the law. When they invoiced me everything was broken down very clearly. I understood exactly how they got their numbers. That surprised me because I've heard stories from others about feeling cheated by their attorneys. I'm just thankful I was referred to Chris. She and Darby made a tough situation much easier than I ever expected.

Chris is the best! She is very knowledgeable and very thorough.

I first came across Chris Lincoln when my sister was going through a nasty divorce. I had become involved because my sister’s house was financed in my name due to her now ex-husband’s bad credit. This made things very messy as far as the divorce and because the house was in my name I was dragged into... it. I chose Chris because of her high ratings on AVVO and she did not let us down. I found Chris to be very professional, knowledgeable, thorough and efficient. By efficient I mean she would wait until she had a list of issues to discuss with the opposing attorney instead of calling or emailing for every little thing that came up and charging a minimum of 15 or 30 minutes which is a standard in the industry. This really helped keeping the costs down. Chris never gets flustered and always remains professional even when things get heated on the other side. She also pays close attention, picking and choosing her battles. An example, not spending $2,000 worth of her time fighting over a $1,500 couch. Some attorneys “will” do that. She advised and guided my sister and I through the divorce and got her a very fair deal and was able to handle my situation (protecting me) with the house being in my name. A few years after, my ex-wife and I decided to divorce. Again I turned to Chris. My ex-wife had hired an attorney but after discussing we found that we were in agreement on who got what so my ex-wife dismissed her attorney and we were able to work things out mutually with Chris’ help. This kept the costs way down and ended with both of us happy with the division of properties. Years later when selling a property that was in both mine and my ex-wife’s name, the title company expressed some concerns that there may be some difficulty. Upon reading over the divorce papers they said it was a very, very thorough divorce decree and I was able to close without any issues. I have since used Chris again for my will and estate planning and am currently using her services for a durable power of attorney for a family member. I have a huge amount of trust in Chris, have recommended her to several people and would not hesitate to recommend her to a friend or family member.

Best Possible Choice for Me

After consulting with many other lawyers in the North Houston, Spring, and Woodlands area. I came to Chris's profile on Avvo with very little expectation based on my previous experience meeting with other lawyers. As well as, a healthy level of skepticism for online reviews. I was quickly surprised w...ith her no nonsense attitude, approach to my case, knowledge of my rights, and background in very similar cases. As a father seeking sole conservartorship of my son, and dealing with a severe alcoholic with mental issues spouse. I needed someone that could be discrete and help me fight for my son. She met every request with detailed precision, and guided me through this turbulent time. From the very first day we met, and prior to signing our agreement. Chris had informed me of exactly what to expect, and exactly what would be the points of contention. Literally 10 different items came up as a point of contention, and she nailed every one of them exactly on day one. I remember coming into her office or talking to her on the phone saying; "Well... You were right again.." She would respond by saying: "Well... You know.. This is how we are going to handle this.." In those situations she made superb recommendations that led me to my end goal. The well-being of my son, and his best interest. Between Chris and Darby (who works in the office), I stayed up-to-date on every situation, and conversation that occurred. They ensured I was a part of every step and decision that needed to take place. They were very conscious of funds available, and I never felt like I, or my situation, was being taken advantage of throughout the course of things. Please keep in mind that divorce is not cheap, and it doesn't happen over night. Further, it is stressful, and you will be faced with hard decisions. Texas law is very specific in these matters, so be prepared to give fair offers when the time comes around. With all of this in mind, Chris & Darby helped me get through this with a price tag and division of property I was comfortable with, and a timeline that far exceeded my expectations. Most importantly my son, with a phased visitation schedule that allowed me to feel more comfortable with him in her possession. If you are a father that is unsure of your rights, or if you feel like the law is against you. Please take it from me that you will be pleasantly surprised with what you learn from Chris's knowledge and experience in these matters. I personally cannot say enough positive things about my experience at Lincoln law firm. I am very happy I found them.
