They are all about collecting all the money they can get their hands on.

They bill by the quarter hour, $112.50 to send one simple email, $112.50 for one 2 minute phone call. They billed me redundantly for the same items. Supposedly closed for the holidays but still billing me for holiday weekends.

Disappointing experience with delays and billing

I had a horrible experience. I was told this was a simple, uncontested guardianship case that would take 2–3 months. It ended up taking over 8 months and cost more than three times what was originally estimated. The actual court appearance took only a few minutes, but everything leading up to i...t was unnecessarily dragged out. I was billed every month the entire time. I was repeatedly asked for the same documents, communication was poor, and staff changed multiple times. At one point, a scheduled court date was missed, which caused further delay. From my experience, the process was handled in a way that continuously extended the case while billing continued. The gap between what was promised and what actually happened was significant. I strongly advise others to be very careful, especially with retainer and ongoing billing arrangements, and to expect much longer timelines and higher costs than initially stated. I would not recommend this firm under any circumstances.

Bryan Fagan is a crook.

Do not believe the manufactured and doctored reviews and writeups about this law firm. Bryan Fagan and his cronies have developed a notorious reputation in the legal community as a set of crooks engaging in deceptive trade practices, who should be investigated as such. Mr. Fagan is fortunate he is ab...le to retain his legal license to operate in Texas, having been sued for several violations in a court of law.

Very dishonest

I received my bill from Bryan fagan law firm inconsistent with what I was told in the cancellation meeting. Eric Engel, the only lawyer I met with and only once said I would not be charged for emails. He said this in front of his own staff yet it was the bulk of the $1800 feet I was charged for what ...I thought was their advertised free consultation with a lawyer. That free consultation isn’t even indicated anywhere on the bill to which I conclude the one meeting I had with Eric Engel should have been my free consultation and opportunity to decide whether to hire this firm at all. They put the cart before the horse in demanding a contract and retainer before ever talking to one of their lawyers so I could evaluate their firm. Apparently the billing started when I signed the contract and not after the consultation as is typical. He basically lied and their firm demanding hiring before consultation is unethical to say the least. My dispute isn’t with the contract itself but when it became valid. Their website clearly lists a free consultation and I never received it. Since I met with a lawyer one time a reasonable person would believe that was the consultation and my opportunity to decide whether or not to hire the firm. That is the purpose of a consultation, it’s supposed to be a two way street where I would receive some consideration. I’ve dealt with many lawyers and had a past divorce but never had a firm behave in this way
