Marcela Halmagean

During her professional tenure, Attorney Ms. Halmagean has worked for large corporations and law firms representing corporate and individual entities in a variety of legal matters, such as white collar crime cases, breach of contract, and partnership disputes. Ms. Halmagean is also a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). In part due to her CFE credentials and in part due to her degree in law, from 1997 to 1999, she acted as project counsel in Zurich, Switzerland, for one of the big five accounting firms, which is today largely referred to as the "Holocaust Project." While working on the Holocaust Project, she acted as the legal liaison on banking and privacy laws issues while supervising the risk management and compliance functions for the project.

During her law school years, Ms. Halmagean clerked in a prosecutorial function with the Harris County District Attorney's office in the Special Crimes Division, assisting with the prosecution of white-collar crime cases. She also worked as a law clerk for a Houston criminal defense law firm.
