Shelly totally embarrassed herself and me in front of the judge, then wanted to enlist the help of another attorney to help her with the business part of things becuase she couldn't get the job done, then enlisted a forensic accountant and just plowed through the money mercilessly, while I was jobles...s and practically homeless with my daughter, then she sends me an invoice for $10k for her services for one month, it was a disgusting way to treat a client. She was fired and I got myself a real attorney who was aware of my circumtances and wanted to get me the best outcome for I was able to pay, I'm so glad I switched. Save yourself the time, money and embarrassement and get yourself an attorney with two feet on the ground.

When I had to go through a custody battle with my son's father I didn't think I could do it. Shelly Durham walked me through every step. She fought for me and my son like we were family. She was very aggressive and did what was right for my situation. She was strong when I was weak and kept me go...ing through the most emotional situation of my life. She had me prepared for my testimony for my temporary hearing so that I would not be so nervous and made sure that the Judge heard all of the facts. I was scared to death because this is my baby, but she was right there by my side the whole way. I HIGHLY recommend her as a family lawyer.

I wish I would have read the ‘Worst Lawyer Ever’ review as this was my exact experience with this attorney. I hired Shelly for a minor custody issue and was required to provide a $6,000 retainer fee. Like Worst Lawyer Ever, I felt she had the opposing sides best interest and never provided any strat...egy on handling my case – rather her statement of let just wait and she what happens. She was consistently condescending and as the case was winding down, she charged me attorney fees for duties her paralegal could have handled for less than half the cost. At the end of the case, I preferred getting a call or email from my former spouse than receiving one from this attorney.

I hired this attorney for a custody case. She took a 12,000 retainer that lasted all of two months then billed me for an additional 4 months for doing nothing. She did not do anything she said she would and just collected my money. I also felt that she was working with the other side and that she dam...aged my case beyond repair.
