Derek Allen Johnson

Derek earned his juris doctorate from Samford University's Cumberland School of Law, and his Masters of Laws with a specialization in Taxation from the University of Houston's Law Center.  In addition, he earned bachelor of art degrees in Sociology and Spanish (Study Abroad Curriculum) from Samford University.  Derek was sworn in to practice law in the State of Texas by the Honorable Howell Cobb on April 4, 2002.  Derek started his law career representing national and state lenders and other secured creditors in federal bankruptcy proceedings and adversarial and other federal litigation cases.  Subsequently, and in addition to representing creditors, he began representing liquidating trustees in Chapter Eleven proceedings and lenders and other financial companies in state court debt collection proceedings.  In 2005, Derek began transitioning his practice to a transactional based practice.  In 2007, Derek started a fee attorney office for Exodus Title, LLC, and has since maintained his law firm and a fee attorney office.
