Very knowledgeable! Great communication!

I was very pleased with my experience with Ms. Fabio. Her professionalism and experience gave me a ton of confidence that I was receiving accurate information and recommendations that were in my best interest. Between Ms Fabio and her paralegal, communication was quick and questions were always ful...ly answered. She definitely made a very difficult situation easier by fully explaining things and making me feel in control. My priority stayed with the custody of my daughter and she saw to it that I got exactly what I wanted and was best for my daughter.

I recommend Ms Fabio

Overall I had a pleasant experience with Ms Fabio. My case was relatively simple, no children, but needed a specific asset division. Ms Fabio and her paralegal were very helpful and knowledgable. My inquiries were also answered incredibly fast. Only reason I gave four stars is because it was a littl...e pricier than originally expected. Overall I would recommend Ms Fabio

Outstanding Lawyer

Writing a recommendation for a divorce attorney seems farfetched. After all, no one gets married with the intention that one day they will get divorced. Believe it or not, even men are looking for their happily ever after as the benefits of a life partner, especially when you have children, outweig...h the alternative of going it alone. Faced with the possibility of divorce after two and a half years of therapy, which included a weekend at the Gottman Institute, there I was looking for an attorney. After seeking the guidance of the corporate attorney for my firm he gave me two names. The second name escapes me but the one I remember and am happy I chose was Thea Fabio. Upon our first meeting, which was a year before I filed, I felt comfortable with my choice. You see, although I was ultimately the one who filed, I was told to be prepared as all indications pointed towards her filing and I didn’t want to be caught off guard scrambling to pull my case together. Thea and her associates at Fabio and Merrill helped me organize my personal information from the stand point of being proactive versus reactive. And during this time while I was still optimistic my marriage would be salvaged, she never encouraged me to file nor did she patronize me for being indecisive about filing. Her rates were reasonable and I felt like she was fiscally responsible with my time and not dragging things out unnecessarily. I also felt she was compassionate as sometimes my meetings with her were half working session, half therapy session. When my ex and I initially discussed divorce as an option, in therapy, she expressed that she wanted a collaborative divorce. I was fine with this as I simply wanted out at this point. I assumed we would split everything down the middle and go our separate ways. However, once I filed it became clear that divorce is nothing more than a struggle for power and control. Once you realize that and choose not to play that game, you will not only find peace but the process will be much easier. Being still and finding peace in the process was extremely challenging for me as I was not only dealing with the demise of my marriage but my father had succumb to the effects of Alzheimers and subsequently passed away four and a half months after I filed. This was the lowest point in my life. Through it all Thea Fabio was amazing. She was very sensitive to my situation and didn’t push me to move forward until I was mentally ready. Electing to continue the process in spite of dealing with the passing of my father, she did not rush me to make decisions as she could see I was not always thinking rationally. She advised me to concede on issues where the outcome was pointless and guided me to fight for issues that was passionate about. She knew the difference between my passion and my ego and managed both quite well. I would not wish divorce on my worst enemy. It can be a very painful and demoralizing experience. But for those who have asked me for a recommendation, I have gladly referred Thea Fabio and the law firm of Fabio and Merrill. Sometimes happily ever after isn’t always the result of a perfect marriage. However, peace and peace within is the result of a balanced life. If you find yourself on this side of life and you need a partner to help you navigate the process, I would be honored to give Thea Fabio my highest recommendation.

Great lawyer, compassionate person...

Thea Fabio is absolutely fantastic. I went to her to help me get custody of my grandson--I was burned pretty bad by another attorney that didn't take me or the situation seriously. I was panicked, upset and desperate. She put me at ease, listened attentively and was honest about what to expect. Th...roughout the entire case, she responded quickly to my email and gave me no-nonsense answers and explanations. I found her reasonably priced, hard working and extremely knowledgeable. I can't thank her enough for her compassion--what a difference it makes to have such a great attorney.

"The Best Divorce Lawyer (and Staff) in Houston"

One of my co-workers confided in me that she was getting a divorce and that she had "the best attorney" in the world and began to tell me how her husband was trying to hide money and low-ball her in child support, despite his "cash-paying" second job. However, Ms. Fabio was able to get her more than... she thought she could ever get in her divorce. I got Ms. Fabio's name, for informational purposes only - not intending to ever use it. However, a few years later I needed her. When I met with Ms. Fabio for the first time she was patient, sympathetic, and listened. I felt no pressure nor did she encourage me to get a divorce. I was concerned that I would be on the losing end of this divorce because my soon-to-be ex was a shrewd businessman. However, Ms. Fabio assured me that I would be okay. The court required each side to produce a lot of documentation, which my ex failed to produce. However, Ms. Fabio insisted that I produce everything the court required, despite my ex's non-compliance. I was not happy about having to produce all of those records, but I trusted Ms. Fabio and painstakingly gathered the documents. My divorce ended up in trial due to my ex's uncooperativeness. Nevertheless, whenever I called Ms. Fabio she was available or if she wasn't, her staff delivered the message and she promptly returned my call or they addressed my concerns. If I had ideas or suggestions about certain issues concerning my case, Ms. Fabio listened and immediately began researching to see if there was any part of the law to support my concerns. In court, Ms. Fabio was known and well-respected by the judges and staff, and represented me well. I was proud that she was MY attorney! Ms. Fabio was interested, involved and responsive to my concerns from beginning to end. I came out much, much better than I could have ever imagined!!! And, even though Texas is not an alimony state, I am receiving a sizeable check monthly called "economic reimbursement" until 2024 because of Ms. Fabio's knowledge of the law and my ability to produce ALL that paperwork that she insisted I produce!!! Today, if I have a question, concern or need a letter from Ms. Fabio, she is as responsive as she was when I first met her. Whatever her fee, she is WELL worth it and then some! I cannot begin to tell you how grateful I am to God for brining Thea Fabio into my life.
