Expensive, unprofessional and underprepared

I had a deeply disappointing experience with Susan during my mediation. She abruptly quit in the middle of the process when I refused to settle for less than I was entitled to. This was partly due to her failure to file a petition compelling my husband to participate in discovery, leaving us with inc...omplete financial information. She advised me to seek other counsel because I refused to settle without proper documentation. Additionally, she misled me about using a joint valuator, which ultimately worked against me. Despite her assurances, the valuation was held against me during mediation, and her advice on handling my husband's financial actions was ineffective. My new attorney is now taking steps that Susan should have advised from the beginning. Susan was consistently underprepared and lacked the knowledge to handle my divorce's complex corporate structures. Over more than a year, I had minimal direct communication with her, yet she billed me for extensive hours and additional expert fees without delivering any substantial results. Her strategy was to push for settlement rather than addressing the contentious nature of my case. t, and competence. Additionally, I learned that Susan would discuss my case in social settings, asking mutual acquaintances about me, which I find highly unprofessional. Susan’s handling of my case was marked by a lack of follow-through, respect, and competence. I feel that her charges are unjustified given the lack of progress and results in my case as Susan’s performance was far below the standards I was promised by her firm.

Relationship: Opposing Counsel on matter

"I endorse this lawyer. I had a case opposite Susan. She was wonderful to work with and always very quick to respond to emails. We mediated the divorce case and were able to reach an agreement that really worked well for both parties, given their special work situations. Susan's office was quick to provide a draft of the decree after mediation. The decree was nearly flawless, which allowed us to get the order entered in a tight time frame."
